Presenter: ACS SEGUROS Questions & Answers: What kind of insurance is included as part of your marchamo and what does it really COVER?
What are the different types of vehicle insurance available?
Can you tell about liability coverage: what it costs and what it covers?
How quickly are claims paid? Will the insurance pay the repair shop directly or do you have to pay and then be reimbursed?
Is there a "deductible" or "co-pay" and if so how much?
What kind of full-coverage insurance is available for your car? Does it include THEFT or is that something different?
How much does full coverage cost? (How is the cost calculated?)
If you injure someone with your vehicle, can that person sue you and does insurance cover that?
Are there different kinds of "theft" coverage -- in other words, what is available for if your CAR is stolen? What is available (if anything) for if you have things stolen FROM your car, not the car itself?
Since *most* people attending the presentation are gringos, are there special considerations for extranjeros? For example -- do you have to be a legal resident? Do you have to have a Costa Rican driver's license? What happens if you let someone else (a visitor) drive your car and they don't have a Costa Rican license?
For myself, I know that I would like to sign up for the liability automobile insurance (the one that I believe is inexpensive, perhaps around ¢60,000 or something like that?) so if possible could you be sure to bring the forms for that and tell me ahead of time if there is anything special that *I* need to bring to you for that application.
