The goal of the Community Action Alliance’s Fund Raising Committee is to raise funds for the various projects and alliances it develops that need underwriting or seed funding. Many Alliance initiatives can only be undertaken if some minimal underwriting is available. In time, an Alliance grants program may be developed to support worthwhile organizations within San Ramon. Examples include raising funds for established non-profits such as El Hogarcito, the orphanage in San Ramon, as well as the establishment of new non-profits such as a free animal center to deal with spaying and neutering of street dogs and other animal services not served by local veterinarians.

The creation of a U.S. 501(c)3 non-profit corporation to accept tax deductable contributions from people who have connection to San Ramon and the Alliance (our families and friends for example), is in the works.

Many of us have learned that we are able to make a difference with modest contributions to local programs. This is unlike the high levels of support needed to make an impact on programs in the United States. By giving together and raising funds together we can significantly improve the quality in our community.
