DEFINITION OF COVERAGE:
Direct damage of property
This coverage
- accidental fire and lightning
- forest and brush fire
- smoke damage
- strike
- riot
- legal strike
- civil commotion
- malicious damage or malicious acts of persons
- vehicle collision against the insured property
- fall of aircraft and detached objects of the same
- implosion and explosion and fire derived from the same
- Falling trees and towers for television, radio, electrification and the like
- Winds
- rain and spill
Direct damage of contents: for all the options:
- loss of property held, due to theft
- covered property damage caused by theft or attempted theft
- damage by theft or attempted theft suffered by the local structure or building occupied by the insured to a maximum of 5% of the sum insured, provided he owns the building or answer contractually
- theft of any object or art rare unit value of more than $500.00
- theft of original CDs, cassettes original and original movies, to a maximum of C200.000.00
Besides the above is added:
- clothing, lingerie and shoes of the insured and their beneficiaries, until 5% of the sum insured
Convulsions of nature: It covers the risks of:
- tremor and earthquake and fire derived from it
- volcano eruption
- tsunami
- underground fire
Additional costs: Debris Removal
Cover the costs necessary to remove from the premises insured:
- Debris resulting from the occurrence of damage covered by this policy

- Ash, dust or particles from a volcanic eruption may have caused direct damage to the building or contents insured
Maximum liability of the institute by way of these expenses is limited to 5% of the insured amount in the insured property
Assurance requirements

BUILDINGS:
Should indicate the number of real estate or folio of each of the properties included in the contract.

PERSONAL PROPERTY:
Option 1. According ensures lists.
Option 2. Comprising 25% of the value of primary residence, indicate the quantity and brand of these items: all size televisions, audio equipment, amplifiers, DVD, VHS, home theater, screens, projectors, corded and cordless telephones and answering machines.
Items with a value exceeding $ 1,000.00 (exchanged free exchange rate, sales price).
Option 3. Corresponding to 25% of the value of primary residence. It doesn’t require a detailed list.
Items with a value exceeding $ 2.000.00 (free interbank exchange rate, sales price) must be declared by a detailed list per item.
Works of art or rare items: requires a listing of them:
- author name
- name of artwork or rare object
- individual value
- technique used
- any other document to provide greater clarity, such as photographs, original certificates, original invoices or certified copy of the same
Jewelry:
Requires a list of the jewelry that includes at least the following data:
- kind of jewel
- jewel description
- brand
- individual value
The jewels are insured only while in residence and are in safe.
Conditions of insurability:
Construction class: Residence whose structure, floors, mezzanines and shell and interiors are constructed entirely of highly fire-resistant materials such as blocks, concrete, etc.
May be allowed within this classification, residential internal enclosures containing fuel to a maximum of 20%, calculated on the total area of internal closures.
Minimum security measures:
Besides being a solidly constructed building should be resistant to theft: Can not enter without making the use of violence (only using special tools).
ROBBERY POLICY
OPTION #1 (Robbery with R1 list)
Covers:
- Loss of protected property caused by thef
- Damages caused to protected property by theft or theft attempt.

- Theft of any rare object or piece of art whose value exceeds $500,00 (or its equivalent in colones according to the interbank market exchange rate, selling price), for which the insured has submitted a detailed list with the description of the rare objects and pieces of art and their purchase price or official appraisement certified by accredited firms or individuals.
- Theft of personal assets belonging to persons, who are in quality of visitors in the home of the insured, provided these are of the same nature as the insured’s personal assets under the contract until 2% of the insured amount
- Theft of original CD’s, cassettes, and movies, up to a maximum of ¢200.000.00.
Ways of Insurance
The insurance is based on the value of the real effective terms.
a) The insurance is made according to a list, where the items are detailed, quantity of the same, approximate acquisition date, insured amount.
OPTION #2 (R2)
Covers:
- Loss of protected property caused by theft
- Damages caused to protected property by theft or theft attempt.
- Damage caused by theft or theft attempt suffered by the structure of the local or building occupied by the insured, up to a maximum of 5% of the insured amount, provided that the structure is owned by the insured.
- Theft of any rare object or piece of art whose value exceeds $500,00 (or its equivalent in colones according to the interbank market exchange rate, selling price), for which the insured has submitted a detailed list with the description of the rare objects and pieces of art and their purchase price or official appraisement certified by accredited firms or individuals.
- Theft of personal assets belonging to persons, who are in quality of visitors in the home of the insured, provided these are of the same nature as the insured’s personal assets under the contract until 2% of the insured amount.
- Theft of original CD’s, cassettes, and movies, up to a maximum of ¢200.000.00.
- Clothing, lingerie and shoes of the insured and their beneficiaries, until 5% of the insured amount.

b) Operates with an amount on first relative risk of 50% corresponding to the maximum insurance limit, so the application must state the 100% of the exposed amount, which is set by the insured with no need to submit a detailed list to support it.
However, items with a value superior at $750.00 (interbank market exchange rate, selling price) must be declared.
OPTION #3 (Robbery with amount list R3)
Covers:
- Loss of protected property caused by theft.
- Damages caused to protected property by theft or theft attempt.
- Damage caused by theft or theft attempt suffered by the structure of the local or building occupied by the insured, up to a maximum of 5% of the insured amount, provided that the structure is owned by the insured.
- Theft of any rare object or piece of art whose value exceeds $500,00 (or its equivalent in colones according to the interbank market exchange rate, selling price), for which the insured has submitted a detailed list with the description of the rare objects and pieces of art and their purchase price or official appraisement certified by accredited firms or individuals.
- Theft of personal assets belonging to persons, who are in quality of visitors in the home of the insured, provided these are of the same nature as the insured’s personal assets under the contract until 2% of the insured amount.
- Theft of original CD’s, cassettes, and movies, up to a maximum of ¢200.000.00.
- Clothing, lingerie and shoes of the insured and their beneficiaries, until 5% of the insured amount.
Ways of Insurance
c) Household insurance operates on first absolute risk which is estimated by the insured. It doesn’t require a detailed list; however, the quantity and brand of the following items must be indicated: Televisions (all sizes), audio equipment, amplifiers, DVD readers, VHS, home theater, screens, projectors, corded and cordless telephones and answering machines.
Items with a value exceeding $750.00 (interbank market exchange rate price) must be declared.
Excluded Property:
- Gold and silver ingots, jewels and precious stones.
- Manuscripts, sketches, drawings, patterns, or molds.
- Liquids, beauty and cleaning cameras, camcorders, phones, discman, walkman, binoculars, firearms and laptops.
- Securities, commitment papers or documents of any kind, stamps, banknotes, checks, bills, notes, receipts, records and books of trade.
- Merchandise displayed in shop windows or similar.
- Explosives.
