Road Survival Spanish Workshop

Driving in Costa Rica can be treacherous and nerve-wracking. Not knowing how to... speak Spanish when you have a problem (and you will!) doesn’t help. To take some of the anxiety out of driving in Costa Rica the Community Action Alliance hosted a Road Survival Spanish Workshop on Friday, August 26. Nearly 20 attendees learned what to say in the event of an accident; if your car breaks down; if you are pulled over; and basic terminology when speaking with a mechanic.

Topics included:

  • Street Signs
  • I was Pulled Over by a Transito!
  • My car broke down and I need help.
  • I just had an accident!
  • At the mechanic
  • At Riteve
  • Helpful vocabulary, including car parts, roads and highways, accidents, car model with labels, misc.
  • Useful websites
