CAA's members and supporters are in a unique position to effect positive change in San Ramón through CAA’s multiple outreach efforts. Our funding comes from individual cash contributions, fundraising websites, and membership dues. All donations, however small, directly affect these CAA efforts. Helping Children Living in Poverty
Helping Children Living in Poverty
- Blankets for Babies. Each month we create and deliver to the local hospital twenty newborn welcome bundles consisting of a changing mat, a blanket, burping cloths, rubber pants, diapers, and a toy--all for newborn care.
- Hogarcito Birthday Buddies. Each of the twenty children at the city's orphanage gets a personalized birthday gift and a traditional cake and ice cream party on their special day.
- Christmas Toy Drive. We partner with the San Ramón Lions club to provide the funds for Christmas gifts to be delivered to families in need so their children will have a Christmas worth remembering.

Helping Children Reach Their Education Goals
- Education Scholarship Program. This project provides school supplies, uniforms, shoes, and social worker support for up to 30 financially needy but academically motivated students in San Ramón. Assistance is provided through vouchers (not cash) redeemable for approved school supplies and uniforms at partnering retail stores. Satisfactory academic scores, attendance, and teacher recommendations are necessary for multi-year eligibility; the goal is to help these students complete high school.
Addressing Food Insecurity
- Árbol de Esperanza. We provide monthly food assistance to women in need who are part this women's empowerment program. Our goal is to provide monthly food support for one year for the equivalent of 15 women and their families.
- Bajo Tejares Tamale Christmas. We also provide funds to a neighborhood of impoverished migrant and immigrant women to help them continue the much-loved and time-honored cultural tradition of making and giving tamales to family and friends at Christmas.
