The Education Committee was formed to further educational opportunities and provide assistance for people of all ages in the San Ramón area through volunteerism, local fundraising, and partnerships with local educational organizations and business partnerships.
February Committee Report
Watch out San Ramon! Here come another group of CAA Education Scholarship students ready to take on the next school year! We are proud of their accomplishments - almost all of these students scored in the mid 80's or 90's on their last report cards; so we know they are serious.
On Jan 21, the CAA Education Committee and invited CAA Members, helped award scholarship vouchers to 19 students, and 4 additional awards were granted the following week for a total of 23 scholarship students for the first term of 2016. Additionally, the scholarship agreement for our University Intern, Fernanda Rojas, was extended for another year as she continues to grow in her role as an program administrator intern.
The families quickly got busy at our 3 participating merchants to turn in those vouchers for uniforms, shoes and school supplies worth about $3,500 for this first term. We join the parents in attendance, and send blessings and thanks to all that have answered the call for donations. Our work is only half done for 2016, so please take the opportunity to help support one or more of these very dedicated students in the months to come. And, if you know of a very worthy, financially struggling student in your area that could use help, please contact one of the Education Committee Members for help in evaluating your sponsored student. With your help, we can continue to make a difference.
